Glaive Legions is a real-time army battle game you play in the browser. Every battle has two phases: deploy, where time is paused and you arrange your army, and battle, where everything you learned here still works live.
1. The deploy phase
Battlefield. Choose one of four painted arenas: Mountain Vale, Snowfield, Red Desert or Ember Dusk. They are cosmetic, so pick your favourite.
Strategy presets. Shield wall, Pincer, Hammer and anvil and Full charge reposition all four squads at once and set their formations. Presets are the fastest way to start; you can fine-tune afterwards.
Select and move a squad. Click any of your soldiers (or the squad label above them) to select the squad, then click a spot on the ground to march them there. Squads keep formation while marching and the label shows "· marching".
Squad size. Use −5 / −1 / +1 / +5 to resize the selected squad. The army cap starts at 50 soldiers at level 1 and grows by 5 every level up to 100.
2. Starting the battle
Press Start battle (or Space). The horn sounds and the enemy commander picks a strategy. From now on gold matters:
Miners walk from your statue to the gold mine and back, bringing 25 gold per trip. You start with two; train up to eight for 150 gold each.
Training reinforcements. Select a squad and press +1 or +5 to train soldiers with gold. They spawn at your statue and march to their squad.
Speed. 1x or 2x. Pause any time.
3. Winning
Destroy the enemy statue (3000 HP) before yours falls. Melee units hack at it, archers shoot it. Destroying the enemy gold mine first stops their miners, which starves their reinforcements. Watch out: the enemy can do the same to you.
4. After the battle
You earn war coins and XP win or lose. Wins pay more, difficulty pays more, a win streak adds up to +50%, and there is a chance of a war chest. Spend coins in the Shop on heroes and gear, then take the next, harder battle.
